UPDATE: County Executive Rick Fitzgerald is giving a press conference re the property tax reassessments. Apparently, county attorneys have requested a stay of the 2012 reassessment. City Paper is tweeting live updates from the press conference at http://twitter.com/#!/PGHCityPaper.
Judge Wettick remarked today that he might postpone using reassessed property values to calculate property taxes, in order to give all residents time to finish their formal and informal appeals. Apparently, the city is worried that its tax base will actually decrease because so many people are appealing their property reassessments. Stay tuned, because I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of this. [Post-Gazette]
