The Post-Gazette reports that prosecutors in Jane Orie’s corruption case object to a letter sent to her entire congressional district.

The letter, which is not signed by Jane, says: “This chapter in my life calls upon me to ask you to serve as a character witness for me in my upcoming trial … I am asking you as a friend and supporter who truly know what I represent and what I stand for.”

The prosecutors say this is a violation of the gag order and is improper.  According to the Erie Times, Assistant District Attorney Lawrence Claus filed a 10 page motion to exclude Jane’s constituents from the jury pool.
